FULL COUNCIL MINUTES - 18th March 2019

Those present

1.  Apologies.

There were no apologies received.

 

2.  Minutes of the Previous Full Council Meeting.

It was RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Full Council Meeting held on Monday 18th February 2019 be approved as a true and correct record.

 

3.  Matters Arising.

a.)  Minute number 3.c.) Auckland Education Centre.

Members were informed that there is a bid to build a ‘Free School’ in Auckland Drive, aimed at children with autism, although it is not clear if this will affect the plans to build housing on the site.

 

b.)  Minute number 8.b.) HM Courts & Tribunal Services.

It was agreed that this item be deferred to the Private Section of these Minutes.

 

c.)  Minute number 9.a.) Unsolicited Parcels from Amazon.

Members were informed that Cllr Mrs Harrison had been contacted by Rip Off Britain and she had passed on correspondence she had received from Amazon.  She also added that the Police had not contacted her, presumably because she had not lost any money.

 

d.)  Minute number 9.d.) Public Noticeboard.

Members were informed that the Clerk was now in possession of a key to the public noticeboard.

 

4.  Public Participation.

There were no members of the public present.

 

5.  Correspondence.

a.)  Solihull MBC - Re: Planning Application - 23 Usk Way - removal of existing UPVC front porch and new brick cavity porch.

It was RESOLVED: That this item be received and noted.

 

b.)  Solihull-Sustain - Re: Colebridge Alert 08/03/2019.

It was RESOLVED: That this item be received and noted.

 

c.)  Joseph Bright (Solihull MBC) - Re: HS2 Implementation Advisory Group meeting 21st March at 6pm in the Civic Suite, Solihull Council House.

It was RESOLVED: That this item be received and noted.

 

d.)  Natalie O’Dwyer (Balfour Beatty) - Re: M6 Combined TM log 18th to 24th March.

It was RESOLVED: That this item be received and noted.

 

e.)  West Midlands Police - Re: Neighbourhood Alerts: New Zealand Terror Attack; Scam Warning - Fake TV licensing emails; Burglary - Bradford Road; Robbery - Robin Close; Theft of tools from motor vehicles - Castle Bromwich; Op Spectre tackling knife crime; Solihull vehicle theft.

It was RESOLVED: That these items be received and noted.

 

6.  Reports From Outside Bodies.

There were no reports presented.

 

7.  Minutes of the Finance and General Purposes Committee

It was RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held on Monday 4th March 2019 be received and the recommendations contained therein be adopted.

 

a.)  Minute number.4.f.) Broadband contract.

Members were presented with a number of companies offering cheaper broadband options.  It was agreed that the Clerk obtain options including telephone services.

 

8.  Members Requests at the Chairman’s Discretion.

a.)  Pond at junction of Arran Way and Windward Way.

Cllr Mrs Harrison informed members that Solihull MBC were installing a pond at the junction of Arran Way and Windward Way.  She added that she had contact Solihull MBC about her concerns regarding the safety of children attending the nearby schools and living in close proximity to the pond and the health and safety regarding stagnating water.  It was agreed that the Clerk contact Solihull MBC stating that they support Cllr Mrs Harrison comments and also look at the planning application to confirm if the pond was on the plans at the start of the planning consultation.

 

9.  Dates of the Next Meeting

It was RESOLVED: That the dates for the next meetings are as follows:

Finance and General Purposes Committee Meeting: Monday 1st April 2019 at 4.30pm.

Full Council Meeting: Monday 15th April 2019 at 4.30pm.

 

10.  Exclusion of Public and Press.

It was RESOLVED: That in accordance with Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the following Agenda item: Private Section of Minutes.
