2.  Minutes of Previous Finance and General Purposes Committee Meeting

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Minutes of the previous Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held on Monday 4th February 2019 be approved as a true and correct record.


3.  Matters Arising.

There were no matters arising.


4.  Correspondence.

a.)  Solihull-Sustain - Re: Colebridge Alert - 22/02/2019 and 01/03/2019.

It was RECOMMENDED: That this item be received and noted.


b.)  Helen Dormer (Dogs Trust) - Re: Dogs Trust Talks & Tours.

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk send a letter stating that the Parish Council support the work that the Dogs Trust are doing and that, when the weather picks up, the Parish Council may invite them to attend a meeting or arrange for a site visit.


c.)  Solihull MBC - Re: Stay Connected.

It was RECOMMENDED: That this item be received and noted.


d.)  Peter Sharples (Solihull MBC) - Re: Stay Connected - Wildlife Ways.

It was RECOMMENDED: That this item be received and noted.


e.)  Natalie O’Dwyer (Balfour Beatty) - Re: Combined TM logs 4th March to 10th March M6 corridor.

It was RECOMMENDED: That this item be received and noted.


f.)  British Telecommunications - Re: Broadband contract expires in three months.

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk check offers from other companies.


g.)  Sam Bhachu (Eversheds) - Re: Shared User Agreement.

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk invite Sam to attend a Parish Council meeting.


h.)  HM Courts and Tribunal.

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk complete the form and return to the Courts.


i.)  Debbie Evans (HYPE Kingshurst) - Re: Request for Financial assistance.

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk forward an application form.


h.)  West Midlands Police - Re: Neighbourhood Alerts: Tenancy Deposit Scheme Alert; Our News - the Neighbourhood Watch e-newsletter; assistance.

It was RECOMMENDED: That these items be received and noted.


5.  Planning Applications

a.)  Solihull MBC - Re: Planning Application -575 Chester Road - Two storey side and rear extension to existing detached dwelling together with conversion of the detached dwelling into 2 semi detached dwellings.

It was RECOMMENDED: That the Parish Council have no objections to the above application subject to the views of local residents.        


6.  Smith’s Wood Community Gym

a.)  Gym Figures.

Members were presented with the gym figures for the month of February.  It was agreed that a Simon Upson (Head Steward) present the Parish Council with a breakdown of the monthly membership, ie how often they are used.

c.)  Bank Reconciliation

It was RECOMMENDED: That the bank reconciliation as at 28th February 2019 be accepted.


8.  Members Requests at the Chairman’s Discretion.

a.)  Solihull Cemeteries.

Cllr Paul informed members that Solihull MBC will ban mourners from leaving alcohol on graves commencing 1st April 2019.


b.)  Powerplate.

Cllr Cornock informed members that the powerplate had not been used during the past 12 months.  It was suggested that the Parish Council sell the powerplate and utilise the space for a cooling down area with resistance equipment, loose weights, etc.


9.  Exclusion of Public and Press.

It was RECOMMENDED: That in accordance with Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the following Agenda items: Staff Matters and Wages; Health and Safety; Security.
